COTABATO CITY (Oct. 12, 2022) – The governance of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) donated today five more patrol cars to the police regional office (PRO) in furtherance of law enforcement, notably in combating criminality and stabilizing peace in the region.

BARMM’S Ministry of the Interior and Local Government (MILG) turned over the five additional patrol cars to officials of PRO-BARMM led by Police Regional Director Brig. Gen. John G. Guyguyon at a symbolic ceremony in front of the regional executive building here.

BARMM Senior Minister Abdulraof “Sammy Almansoor” Macacua assisted by MILG Minister Naguib Sinarimbo and Deputy Minister Abunawas “Von Al Haq” Maslamama handed the key of the patrol cars showcased as well in the symbolic event.

The turnover preceded the signing of a memorandum of agreement (MOA) between Minister Sinarimbo and Gen. Guyguyon, with Senior Minister Macacua, other regional and city officials witnessing

The MOA assigns the brand new patrol cars to the PRO headquarters (three units), the 1404th Regional Mobile Force Company (one unit), and the Cotabato City Police Office (one unit).

In a brief message, Sinarimbo said the additional donation manifested the strong desire of the BARMM government led by Chief Minister Ahod B. Ebrahim for “stable peace and security (towards) a more sustainable development.”

The cost of all or each patrol car was not immediately known. In a meeting of the regional advisory board of the PRO command as week ago, Board Chairman Sinarimbo said the MILG alone as of that moment had already contributed at least P53 million for the whole PRO area, through the construction of municipal police stations, and the purchase of brand new patrol cars.

The amount ostensibly did not include an earlier budget announced by the BARMM government for the construction of a new regional police building at Camp S.K. Pendatun in Parang, Maguindanao.

Today’s ceremony was also attended by Dir. Marvin Mokamad of the MILG’s Interior Affairs Services, Butch Malang, SGA Administrator; and lawyer Aelan Arumpac, Cotabato City Administrator representing Mayor Matabalao. (AGM)
