ILIGAN CITY, LANAO DEL NORTE — The 28 Sultanate Legislative Assembly and the 4 Demarcation of Lanao with some members of the 16 Royal House of Lanao and other sultans and Datus have launched the first ever conference on the documentation of Meranao Taritib, Ijma and Rido norms held at a beach resort in Linamon, Lanao del Norte on June 24-26, 2023.
During the conference, the participants, saying that the National Government respect the Identity, Culture, and Way of Life of the National Minority living in this Country, also wished to ask the Government through the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) and the Bangsamoro Government to engage the Sultanate leadership in Moro Communities in the Quest for Peace, Justice and Harmony through supporting various community peace initiatives and total recognition of the Sultanate leadership as partner for Peace and Progress.

Marawi Sultan Hamidullah Atar, lead convenor of the conference, expressed in behalf of the group their profound gratitude to all individuals and participants from the four (4) principalities of Lanao who extended their time, knowledge and resources in the successful conduct of the first conference on the documentation of Meranao Taritib, Ijma and Rido norms, 65 participants in attendance holds on June 24-26, 2023 at Family Beach Resort , Linamon, Lanao del Norte, Philippines with the support of Geneva call – Philippines and other individual and Groups from Lanao del Sur, Lanao del Norte and Marawi City.
The Conference provides the pathway among the Sultans and the Local Datus to amplify their voice, sentiments, and grievances in working as catalyst of change in their respective communities. The group is very hopeful that the community to preserve the Culture and Identity being recognized by the International Cultural Heritage, specifically the Bangsamoro Government.
The Group appealing to fellow colleagues to ask help to document the ATORAN KO INGUD ko KANDATU or the process and protocol in choosing SULTANS and DATUS in our respective community as tool to preserve our historic traditional Norms and values.
Finally appealing to their fellow constituents that the present members of the Sultanate in Lanao and other Datus that the only way to achieve Peace and Prosperity in our homeland is to purify our deeds towards Allah and to stop local Violence or RIDO that kills not only the lives of the people but also the opportunities of the present and future generation.
