It is hard to understand how the authorities in Sweden could allow the public burning of the Quran, with police guarding, in front of a Mosque in Stockholm and during Eid’l Adha… Surely, this is an abuse of the phrase “freedom of speech/expression,” a weird over-extension of its meaning that only promotes Islamophobia and social disunity.

When I am in a hotel where there is a copy of the Bible, I give the latter total respect, seeing that nothing is put on top of it. When I needed the space where it is placed, I put it inside the best of available lockers. All religious books and symbols need respect!

Governments and leaders have an obligation to promote social cohesion and prevent barbaric displays of religious hatred and intolerance!
