Sheik Abdulrahim of Tawi-Tawi is new NCMF chief

MANILA – The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) has a new secretary, media reports said.

Sheikh Sabuddin N. Abdurahim took his oath of office as the new NCMF secretary on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Malacañang Palace, according to the official Facebook page of Gov. Yshmael “Mang” I. Sali of Tawi-Tawi.

Secretary Sabuddin is the first NCMF chief from Tawi-Tawi, the Cradle of Islam in the Philippines.

The oath-taking, said the reports, was presided by Executive Secretary Lucas P. Bersamin in the presence of Sali, Asec. Al Mohammad, Asec. Ria Danielle Lumapas, Tawi-Tawi Provincial PESO Manager Mr. Francis Marcial, and the Secretary’s wife Barangay Chairwoman Dewy Sabuddin.

He was endorsed by all six BARMM Governors with high hopes of strengthening the NCMF mandates and services, the report added. (With report from the official Facebook page of Gov. Yshmael “Mang” I. Sali of Tawi-Tawi)
