ILIGAN CITY — The Bangsamoro Darul Ifta’ (BDI) has announced that the upcoming moonsighting event to mark the commencement of Shawwal shall take place on the 29th of Ramadan, which falls on April 9, 2024, Bangsamoro Information Office (BIO) recently reported

If the new moon is sighted on Tuesday, the following day, April 10, is the 1st day of Shawwal on which Eid’l Fitr will be marked, BIO quoted BDI as saying. Otherwise, Eid will fall on April 11, thus completing the month of Ramadan into 30 days.

This marks a special occasion for the Bangsamoro community to come together in anticipation of the parting of this sacred month of Ramadan this year.

With this, Muslims, not just in the Bangsamoro region, hold the remaining nights of Ramadan in high regard and dedicate their efforts during the last ten nights of this holy month, following Prophet Muhammad’s teachings. They engage in various acts of worship, hoping to find this night and receive Allah’s forgiveness and immense reward for their devotion.
