Malabang vice mayoral bet injured in ambush, 2 killed

COTABATO CITY — Unidentified armed men ambushed a private car along Paigoay in Malabang, Lanao del Sur yesterday (Dec. 7) killing two passengers and wounding three others including a vice mayoral candidate in the municipality, an informant disclosed today (Dec. 8).

The source, ostensibly a resident of Malabang who asked not to be named, tipped the Philippine Muslim Today news with a sketchy report he hoped to elicit a thorough investigation.

He provided three photos showing the bullet-riddled ill-fated red wagon car. and some responding policemen doing an initial probe at the scene.

The brief report did not identify the two fatalities, even as the information named one of the three wounded victims as Ramil Macugar, said to be a candidate for vice mayor in Malabang in the 2025 local elections.

The informant hinted that the ambush was the latest of a series of violent incidents related to a stiff political climate in Malabang. (AGM)
