TUBOD, Lanao del Norte— The Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte, through its Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), has extended support to 29 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) who were validated this year by distributing much-needed restorative devices, such as artificial legs and customized wheelchairs.
Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza Dimaporo led the distribution ceremony on January 10, 2025, at the Provincial Capitol Grounds in Pigcarangan, where 18 PWDs received customized wheelchairs and 11 others were provided with prosthetic legs.
In addition to the restorative devices, each recipient was also given 10 kilos of rice to support their daily needs. Governor Angging further extended her assistance by offering P3,000 in financial aid to each of the PWDs, aimed at helping them with their immediate necessities.
During the event, Governor Angging reassured the beneficiaries that the provincial government is committed to providing more services and benefits to PWDs in the near future. “Naa gyud kanunay ang atong programa nga maghatag aning mga wheelchair nga mohaom gyud sa mga cases nga ingon ani,” she stated, emphasizing the government’s ongoing efforts to address the specific needs of PWDs.
The distribution is part of the provincial government’s ongoing initiatives to promote inclusivity, enhance mobility, and improve the quality of life for PWDs across Lanao del Norte. The PSWDO continues to assess and validate PWDs to ensure that those in need of assistance are properly supported. (With PIO-LDN)
